The Consumer Choice Center hosts six media roundtables discussing the effectiveness of the World Health Organization (WHO) in September 2018.

We invite journalists, regulators, policy-makers, and civil society to join us for presentations on the WHO’s shortcomings in working towards better global public health and how the WHO actively blocks healthier technologies in the area of harm reduction. We also want to look at the implications of the WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) assessment of the Pesticide Glyphosate. Does the WHO politicize science? How much does evidence play a role in crafting WHO policy recommendations?

‘Too busy with the wrong Priorities: Does the WHO suffer from Mission Creep?’ Bill Wirtz, Policy Analyst at the Consumer Choice Center

‘The WHO and The International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC): How evidence based policies are sabotaged by those who ought enforce them’ Professor David Zaruk, The Risk Mongerer

‘Foreign Aid for Public Health and Clandestine Maneuvering: Insights from the Framework Convention on Tobacco Control’ Fred Roeder, Health Economist and Managing Director of the Consumer Choice Center

Moderation by Luca Bertoletti, Consumer Choice Center
