Araceli Vargas is a Policy Intern studying Economics and Statistics at the University of Calgary, with interests in monetary policy, applied economic modelling, market structure, and consumer choice.

She previously worked as a Student Research Assistant with the Bank of Canada’s Canadian Economic Analysis Department, where she supported work related to survey and economic intelligence. Araceli participated in the Bank of Canada’s Governor’s Challenge in 2024–2025 and later served as a mentor for the 2025–2026 cohort, supporting students in their research, methodology, and understanding of monetary policy. She is also the President of the Society of Undergraduates in Economics at the University of Calgary.
